TAP's Annual Rally in the Valley "Dream Team" Event Crowns the Champions

TAP saw the biggest Rally in the Vally event ever, a sold out venue, as 144 teams and hundreds of Singles players came out to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, to try their skills against North America's best amateur TAP league 8 ball players.

In the Dream Team event, competition was fierce, as this event brings together some of the best players from across the United States and Canada, all vying for the top Dream Team prize of $10,000 and the title of Rally in the Valley Champions.

The team event began on Friday morning, where teams are put into groups of 4, to begin Round Robin play. Each group plays each team in their group once, playing a total of 3 full matches, with each win awarding the team a point. randy corrigan photo At the end of Round Robin play, the teams total points (maximum 15) are tallied, with the top teams moving forward to the "Elite Championship" board, the middle teams moving to the "Championship" board, the the lower scoring teams moving to the best of the rest board.

The finals of all three boards were played out on Sunday, with strong competition in each category. The Elite Championship board, saw "Sam's Black Sheep" from Laurel/Highland's TAP in Pennsylvania, versus "Snow White and the 7 Eskimos" from TAP Canada in Ontario, Canada.

All players in the team line up played to their full potential, and a battle was at hand, as the match came down to Randy Corrigan from Guelph, Ontario vs Dave Woodward from Pennsylvania, both 6 handicap's with a race to 5. The games went back and forth, but ultimately Dave Woodward came out the victor, clinching the win for "Sam's Black Sheep".
